Baxi presents a new range of latest-generation condensing boilers: Luna Century. The range consists of 6 models. Thanks to the SCB-17B accessory, the Century range boilers are ideal for complete system integration: in addition to managing mixed systems or a system with a direct zone and pool heating, the boiler is also able to manage a solar system. The Century models, combined with the Baxi Mago A+ kit with the outdoor sensor and, thanks to the applied technology, achieve an efficiency of 98% in class A+. Furthermore, with the My Baxi App, it is possible to connect to Baxi Mago to manage comfort remotely.

Innovative stainless steel heat exchanger

The Century range of condensing boilers is equipped with an innovative single-coil stainless steel exchanger with large water passages for greater thermal output and seasonal efficiency.

Self-cleaning single stainless steel coil: designed with large water passages to reduce deposits and facilitate cleaning. Stainless steel guarantees corrosion resistance and long life, while the internal structure minimizes scaling, preventing blockages and maintaining high performance over time.

Greater seasonal thermal efficiency: the optimized design significantly reduces pressure drops, improving energy efficiency throughout the year. It ensures more effective heat transfer, helping to reduce operating costs.

Reliability and durability: the shape of the coils allows the system to remain in optimal condition with minimal cleaning thanks to easy access to the combustion chamber. The system is designed to withstand severe operating conditions, guaranteeing long life and reliability over time.
Brass hydraulic unit

The brass hydraulic unit is highly resistant to corrosion and high temperatures; this leads to greater durability of the system as the risk of deformation or breakage is reduced.

Automatic system filling system

Thanks to the innovative integrated Smart-fill automatic filling system, a first in the domestic wall-mounted boiler sector, the Century range is guaranteed optimal pressure. If the system pressure drops, the intelligent Smart-fill system allows the internal filling valve to automatically fill the heating system. Once the optimal pressure is reached, this function will automatically block and close the integrated filling valve. The Smart-fill automatic filling system can also prevent overfilling of the boiler. If the boiler is connected to Baxi Mago, via the My Baxi App, it is also possible to manage the system pressure manually. The management of automatic filling therefore guarantees maximum system safety. If the filling process exceeds 5 minutes without reaching the desired pressure, the system automatically stops filling. Furthermore, if two filling cycles occur within an interval of less than 90 days, filling is blocked. Thanks to the automatic filling system, the end-user will no longer have to worry about managing the system pressure: variations in pressure (too low or too high) can lead to malfunctions and inefficiencies.

3 functions for perfect water temperature

Comfort function Thanks to the new software installed in the Century range, the desired domestic hot water temperature is reached more quickly, minimizing waiting times and saving water. In case of temporary closure of the domestic hot water, the boiler keeps the exchanger hot, thus providing greater comfort at the next request for hot water.

Saving function In case of combining Century boilers with a low-temperature system, the switching of the three-way valve is avoided after closing the domestic hot water, maintaining the appropriate temperature inside the boiler for the next reopening. This function avoids unnecessary energy waste.

Boost function This function allows the Nuvola Century range and the heating-only models of Luna Century, 1.24-1.28-1.35, to speed up the heating of domestic hot water by forcing the temperature to a perfect comfort level for 30 minutes, only in combination with a DHW cylinder for Luna Century.

Power set

The term Power set identifies the heating power regulation process according to the design data. The thermal capacity of the boiler, through the Power set device, is regulated according to energy needs: just act on the control panel to adjust some parameters.

Complete sound insulation

Thanks to the C-structure and the insulation of the front panel, the noise level of the Century range is comparable to that of a normal conversation 49 dB(A).

The Century range is equipped with a high-efficiency electronic pump with a permanent magnet motor. The fully modulating pump allows:

System deaeration

Efficiency and savings

The modulation system of the Century range is able to adapt the thermal power produced to the power required by the building, avoiding excessive overheating/cooling of the rooms.

The wide modulation range (up to 1:10), which distinguishes Century boilers, leads to a significant reduction in on/off cycles, thus improving boiler efficiency and guaranteeing the end-user considerable savings. The user will also enjoy greater quietness in the environment thanks to the absence of repeated on/off phases which can also compromise the durability of the components over time.

GAC Gas Adaptive Control

The electronics and the gas valve with a stepper motor that the new Century boilers are equipped with guarantee automatic combustion control which is based on the flame signal. The system continuously measures the flame signal during boiler operation and adjusts the gas flow rate to maintain constant combustion quality, all without any additional components being required inside the combustion chamber.

Automatic combustion control favors a reduction in installation times as no manual adjustment of the gas valve or nozzle change is required: it is in fact sufficient to manually modify some parameters of the electronic board for operation with LPG.

The boiler automatically adapts to the gas quality and the length of the flue pipes: this means that no manual adjustments are necessary.

Unlike traditional condensing boilers, the boiler always operates at maximum efficiency values, favoring a reduction in gas consumption and consequently a lower environmental impact thanks to the control of CO/CO2 emissions.
Lining solution For chimney renovation

Baxi has developed a system that allows easy lining of existing chimneys thanks to a rigid and flexible Ø50 mm exhaust pipe for all Century models.

Pressurized collective chimneys

Regulation 7129-3:2015 prescribes the possibility of constructing pressurized collective chimneys only for type C condensing appliances.

Only appliances declared suitable by the manufacturer for such application and equipped with a non-return device (clapet), designed to prevent combustion products from flowing out through connected and temporarily switched off appliances, can be connected to a pressurized collective chimney; the flue gas non-return valve is an integral part of the appliance.

Technological intelligence: Baxi Space The new Baxi by BDR Thermea electronic platform

The Baxi Space electronic platform was created to offer solutions for every system installation need, thanks to a complete range of devices that communicate intelligently with each other, thus guaranteeing simple and flexible interaction between the main heating technologies. Increasingly sophisticated and energy-efficient design solutions are emerging. The electronic board used in Baxi boilers and split heat pumps has been specifically designed both for controlling and supervising generator operation and for intelligent integration of different technologies into a single system.

On the one hand, the Baxi Space electronics optimize generator operation to maximize its efficiency for room heating applications and domestic hot water production; on the other hand, it has the ability to integrate different heat or chilled water generation technologies through the use of interface boards and a Bus communication protocol that allows communication between the different parts of the heating/cooling system.

The control, management and communication software resides in the generator, while the interfaces necessary for the integration of other types of generators are mainly hardware, i.e. extensions of the connectors present on the motherboard. System parameters are programmed via a local or remote control panel. The architecture of Baxi device programming is unique, therefore, once the programming logic for one product has been learned, no further training is required for other products in the same family.
