Another aspect to consider is the type of water delivery, which, for both gas and electric water heaters, can be:

• storage, where water is always hot, ready for use, and stored in a tank
• instantaneous, where water is heated when needed and is tankless

Instantaneous water heater

The instantaneous water heater works without a tank. Water is heated instantly as needed. More compact than a storage heater, it is also available in small sizes, but the delivery speed varies depending on its distance from the point where hot water is needed. On average, water can be heated to 55° in 3 seconds. If used carefully, it is very economical.

Electric water heater

While a gas water heater heats water instantly, an electric water heater preheats water in a boiler and releases it as soon as the hot water tap is opened.

To overcome the problem of water cooling very quickly in storage heaters, instantaneous electric water heaters are also available on the market. These do not have a boiler to store heated water, but instead heat it instantly, just like a gas water heater.

The issue arises with its consumption, which is much more wasteful in terms of budget.
